Care Home Rating & Reviews

Since my mum-in-law moved into Baugh House in April they have been nothing but fantastic. She has settled so well. The home itself is spotlessly clean and the staff go over and above to make residents feel at home. And I mean everyone domestic staff, care staff and admin. Ten out of ten to you all.  Can’t thank you all enough for all you do.

Georgina C

(Daughter-in-law of Resident)

My sisters and I took the difficult decision to move Mum into a care home in August 2020. She has Alzheimer’s and various other health problems and after several falls, urine infections, and hospital stays, we contacted Baugh House who was very happy for her to be admitted. It was a great relief for the family that the care home manager and nursing staff were immediately welcoming and assured us that Mum would receive excellent care. Mum is very happy there and so the family are happy too.

(Daughter of Resident)

I have found that the care for my Aunt is extremely good. Her room always looks clean and bathroom. The staff always friendly and helpful. My aunt has settled in nicely and she is happy being here so far.

Christopher K

(Nephew of Resident)

Staff cheerful, home lovely, activities great. Everyone at Baugh House is always so happy and friendly. My partner is always well cared for. I visit every day and am always treated very well too.

Janet C

(Friend of Resident)

Our mother settled immediately and has made many friends, residents, and staff alike, she came in with a urine infection which was diagnosed by the nursing staff and treated accordingly. Because of the infection, she suffered a mild stroke and epileptic fit. She is now very healthy being well fed and well cared for. The staff and entertainment personnel do a brilliant job, with sometimes very difficult patients.

  • Lifestyle

    Meaningful and fulfilling activities

At every stage in life, maintaining your physical and mental health is important. We believe the key to this is to keep your mind, body, and soul stimulated and engaged every day, and this is a fundamental element of how we operate our homes.

In every home in our group, we have a dedicated activities coordinator who, in conjunction with the wishes of the residents, creates a varied program of activities and celebrations. We encourage everyone to participate and join in the fun and comradery that these events can bring. We like to welcome new residents to our activity programme by incorporating their favourite activities, expanding our selection for all the community to enjoy. Designed to engage our residents both physically and mentally, our activity programmes are also a source of great fun and help residents to live life to the fullest.

Most activities take place indoors. However, when the weather permits, we take maximum advantage of our lovely outdoor patio areas and adjoining gardens and also arrange local and national trips.

    No barriers to activity

For every resident, in every setting, be it residential, nursing, or those living with dementia, everyone receives support to be mentally and physically active to enhance their experience while they are staying us. We recognise that independent activity, hobbies, and day-to-day tasks boost an individuals’ self-confidence. We appreciate individual needs and understand their capabilities as part of our person-centred care, as a result; we can be the support they need at the time that they need it.

    Dedicated Activity Coordinators

Our Activity Coordinators establish activities that our residents enjoy at a frequency that maintains engagement. Some are scheduled so that a routine can be established, and others are organised and promoted so that our residents can look forward to a special occasion together. The coordinators will also discover what additional events and activities each resident would like to see and, where feasible, incorporate those ideas into something that all residents can participate in. Residents’ birthdays and special milestones are also celebrated together.

We support our residents to maintain an active, healthy life within the home and the local community by having strong links with local groups. These relationships are designed to promote socialisation, mobility, interaction, independence, and self-confidence and to positively influence their health and well-being.

Activities for residents living with dementia

For residents who live with dementia or require support with their mental health, speech therapies are just one way in which we can provide assistance. Other mediums such as touch, sense, colours, music, animal interaction, and activities that encourage reminiscence memory can stimulate mental agility and provide positive outcomes for our residents.
