Neurodiverse conditions

We provide specialist care for adults with Learning Disabilities and Neurodiverse conditions such as Autism at Vine Lodge Care Home in Uxbridge.

A learning disability is a neurological condition that affects a person’s ability to process and respond to information. People with learning disabilities tend to take longer to learn and may need support to develop new skills, understand complicated information and also to interact with others.

Like a learning disability, autism is a lifelong condition. Autism is sometimes referred to as a spectrum, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism is not a learning disability, but around half of all autistic people may also live with a learning disability.

There are three common features of autism, which might affect the way a person interacts with others in a social situation, is able to communicate with others or experiences the world around them.

Those with severe learning disabilities or those with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and those with certain autism spectrum disorders may require round the clock support in a residential setting.

That’s where we come in. At Gold Care Homes, our residential care home in Uxbridge, Vine Lodge, offers 24-hour care and support in a residential setting where individuals are supported to live an independent life and achieve their goals.

Gold Care’s adult residential support for people with a learning disability is achieved through a person-centred approach. We provide a safe, modern and homely environment where the people we support can develop their social skills, life skills and their communication skills to achieve greater levels of independence, including pursuing education and employment opportunities where this is an option.
