Care Home Rating & Reviews

It’s hard to describe the happiness you feel in this building. The staff really care. I called Dad the other day and could hear music, when I asked him what it was he laughed and said they sing and dance, it makes us laugh. Sums it up really. If you want a home that goes the extra mile in every area then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bletchley House. Improvements have been made to the home and continue to be ongoing. The last 6 months have seen many positive changes. Thanks for all you do.

The care offered to my mother has been exceptional. Staff are kind and always offer help when asked.
General cleanliness is good. No complaints about the food, in fact, the staff are very willing to find alternatives if required.

>My friend moved into your home before lockdown. Previously she was adamant she would not consider a care home. From day one she has had the best experience and it has amazed me how well she has settled in at Bletchley House. From chatting to her on the phone it’s obvious how happy she is, and I’m so pleased to say that she is thriving. I truly believe this is down to the great care she tells me she receives and the regular stimulation from having such nice people around her all the time.

Since my mum has been at Bletchley House, she has been back to our old mum. It wasn’t an easy decision to make, to have to put our mum into a care home, but Bletchley House is the best move she has made. Mum has got her smile and happiness back, and the care she has been given is outstanding. She has also joined other residents in the lounge for company and activities, and this has helped with mum’s memory.

I’ve been volunteering for quite a while and in that time I’ve helped do a garden room sourced a fish tank and got that set up with fish and I’ve donated a couple of chickens for the residents. Over time I’ve gotten to know the staff and a lot of the residents. The staff treats the residents like an extended family which is really nice to see, I would defiantly recommend Bletchley house to anyone needing a carving-loving home for either themselves or a loved one.

    Meaningful and fulfilling activities

At every stage in life, maintaining your physical and mental health is important. We believe the key to this is to keep your mind, body, and soul stimulated and engaged every day, and this is a fundamental element of how we operate our homes.

In every home in our group, we have a dedicated activities coordinator who, in conjunction with the wishes of the residents, creates a varied program of activities and celebrations. We encourage everyone to participate and join in the fun and comradery that these events can bring. We like to welcome new residents to our activity programme by incorporating their favourite activities, expanding our selection for all the community to enjoy. Designed to engage our residents both physically and mentally, our activity programmes are also a source of great fun and help residents to live life to the fullest.

Most activities take place indoors. However, when the weather permits, we take maximum advantage of our lovely outdoor patio areas and adjoining gardens and also arrange local and national trips.

    No barriers to activity

For every resident, in every setting, be it residential, nursing, or those living with dementia, everyone receives support to be mentally and physically active to enhance their experience while they are staying us. We recognise that independent activity, hobbies, and day-to-day tasks boost an individuals’ self-confidence. We appreciate individual needs and understand their capabilities as part of our person-centred care, as a result; we can be the support they need at the time that they need it.

    Dedicated Activity Coordinators

Our Activity Coordinators establish activities that our residents enjoy at a frequency that maintains engagement. Some are scheduled so that a routine can be established, and others are organised and promoted so that our residents can look forward to a special occasion together. The coordinators will also discover what additional events and activities each resident would like to see and, where feasible, incorporate those ideas into something that all residents can participate in. Residents’ birthdays and special milestones are also celebrated together.

We support our residents to maintain an active, healthy life within the home and the local community by having strong links with local groups. These relationships are designed to promote socialisation, mobility, interaction, independence, and self-confidence and to positively influence their health and well-being.

Activities for residents living with dementia

For residents who live with dementia or require support with their mental health, speech therapies are just one way in which we can provide assistance. Other mediums such as touch, sense, colours, music, animal interaction, and activities that encourage reminiscence memory can stimulate mental agility and provide positive outcomes for our residents.
