We know how hard it is to have to think about end-of-life care for someone you love, let alone talk about it. For many people, a terminal illness diagnosis means that that they need to think about this to ensure that their choices and wishes are respected when the time comes.

All Gold Care homes provide support for residents at this exceedingly difficult time, meaning that once you are in our care, we do everything we can to care for you at every stage of life’s journey, even in our residential care homes.

Palliative care, or end-of-life care, is a multidisciplinary approach to caring for those with a terminal illness focusing on providing residents with relief from the symptoms, pain, and the stress associated with their diagnosis.

At Gold Care Homes, our extraordinary carers and nurses provide personalised support, not only with caring, but with understanding, respecting, and carrying out our residents’ wishes for dying with dignity. Our homely, calm, and comfortable care and nursing homes provide a space where every resident receiving palliative care can feel safe and supported.

But of course, we are not just caring for our resident. A crucial part of our palliative care is providing emotional support for our resident’s families. Our patient and supportive approach, and the level of care and understanding shown to their loved one, ensures family members have the time to come to terms with the situation and feel comforted in the knowledge that their loved one’s express needs, wishes and preferences are met.

If you or a loved one are in need of palliative care support, please do not hesitate to get in touch to see how any of our homes can help you with the emotional and physical challenges that this stage of our lives presents. Click here to arrange a visit to your nearest Gold Care home.

Care Homes Offering This Service:

It was my mum’s first time in a care home for respite, so I was nervous about leaving there. The staff put me at ease and looked after her really well, and she enjoyed the interaction with the staff very much.

I cannot thank Gold Care enough. We have now used their facilities a number of times for respite care for my mother-in-law while my husband and I go on holidays (I am her full-time carer). The staff here are absolutely fantastic. There is such positive energy as soon as you walk in. Everyone is happy, smiling, socialising and upbeat. Every time I have picked her up from respite, she is just beaming from ear to ear! I just honestly can’t thank them enough.
