Our lovely residents at Willesden Court Care Home enjoyed a special musical afternoon on 24th July 2026, as the Songs of Joy Dementia Choir visited our home to perform for everyone.
The choir’s visit brought plenty of our residents together, with many joining in with the singing and spending time chatting with the performers afterwards. The music was enjoyed by all, including some of our residents who do not always come out of their rooms for activities, but chose to sit by their doors and join in from where they were.
Here are just a few the special moments captured from the day:

One of the most special moments of the afternoon was a personal song dedication for our lovely resident, Kathleen, and her husband, John, who were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. The choir performed You Are My Sunshine especially for them, making the occasion even more meaningful.
Kathleen said it was a lovely idea and a very kind gesture to have a song dedicated to her and John, while Mr Ali asked if the choir could come and sing every day.
Reflecting on the visit, our Activities Coordinator, Katherine, said,
“It makes all the hard work worthwhile when our residents join in, enjoy the activities and continue talking about them days later.”
At Willesden Court Care Home, our team enjoys creating opportunities for our residents to connect with others and enjoy experiences that are meaningful to them. Welcoming local groups such as Brent’s Dementia Choir helps us build relationships within our community while giving our residents opportunities to enjoy music, conversation and shared moments within our home.
