We had such a lovely day here at Peverel Green Care Home recently as we hosted our very own Puppy Pageant, and it quickly turned into one of those days that everyone will be talking about for a while.
With the sunshine on our side, our wonderful residents, relatives and our wonderful team all gathered together to watch a parade of very well behaved pups take centre stage. There were wagging tails, proud owners and plenty of smiles as each dog had their moment. Queenie, a charming little Jack Russell, certainly caught everyone’s eye and even took home the title of best Pawformer on the agility course, which brought a big cheer from the crowd.

Our residents really embraced the day in their own way. Some enjoyed sitting back with a drink from the BBQ, soaking up the atmosphere, while others were right at the front, chatting about their own pets and sharing stories. Eric even stepped into the role of photographer for the afternoon, making sure those moments were captured. One resident quietly said, “isn’t it lovely… they’re so well behaved,” and it summed the feeling perfectly.
These kinds of moments matter more than they might seem at first glance. They encourage connection, spark memories and give our residents the chance to feel involved, included and uplifted.
We are so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special day, all while supporting a wonderful cause. It is days like these that remind us just how powerful a simple gathering can be.
