We were delighted to welcome residents, families and friends to our much-anticipated Summer Fete at Martins House, held on 8th August. The day brought our community together for a wonderful celebration filled with laughter, entertainment and plenty of delicious treats.
Our team worked hard to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere, with a variety of stalls for everyone to enjoy. Residents particularly loved browsing the arts and crafts table, trying their luck on the tombola, and taking part in the raffle. Of course, no summer fete would be complete without tasty food, and our kitchen team did a fantastic job preparing burgers and hot dogs, which were enjoyed by all.
Here are just a few of our favourite photos from the day:

A real highlight was the live entertainment from the talented May Blossom, who brought energy and joy to the event. Many of our residents sang along, tapped their feet, and even had a dance, creating a lovely, uplifting atmosphere throughout our home. One resident, Fran, shared how much she enjoyed the day, describing it as “a lovely atmosphere” and praising the performance.
Overall, the Summer Fete was a fantastic success and a true reflection of the warm, vibrant community we are so proud of at Martins House.
Bringing residents, families and friends together is an important part of life at our home. Events like our Summer Fete give residents the opportunity to enjoy familiar traditions, spend time with the people important to them and stay connected with the wider community, while choosing how they want to get involved.
