Our wonderful residents at Hatfield Nursing Home made the most of the warm weather by spending time outdoors in the home’s gardens and enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine and a variety of treats as temperatures rose across the country.
The week-long initiative was organised to help residents enjoy the benefits of the warmer weather while remaining comfortable and safe during the heatwave. Our incredible team carefully planned the week’s activities around the cooler parts of the day, allowing residents to spend time outside without being exposed to the hottest temperatures.
Throughout the week, residents gathered in the garden to relax, socialise and enjoy a change of scenery. Ice creams and lollies proved particularly popular, with many residents looking forward to choosing their favourite flavours and toppings while spending time with friends outdoors.

Our wonderful residents including Irene, Clare, Zia, Lee, Julia and Anne were among those who enjoyed the sunshine. The outdoor sessions provided valuable opportunities for residents to stay active and connect with one another while making the most of the home’s beautiful garden spaces.
Spending time outdoors can have a positive impact on both physical and emotional wellbeing, and the team at Hatfield Nursing Home is always looking for ways to help residents enjoy meaningful experiences throughout the changing seasons.
Ana, Activity Co-ordinator at Hatfield Nursing Home, said:
“Our residents loved choosing all different toppings for their ice cream. We should do this again soon!”
Everyone at Hatfield Nursing Home was delighted to see residents enjoying the warmer weather together, with plenty of smiles, conversation and ice cream helping to make the week a memorable one.
