Hatfield Nursing Home came together for a very special morning as we took part in the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. As Activity Coordinators, Ana and Dee helped bring everything together, and it was lovely to see residents, staff and families all joining in for a relaxed and meaningful get together.
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful selection of homemade cakes baked by our chef, along with plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. It was one of those mornings where everyone naturally settled in, chatting and laughing as the tables filled up. Around 15 people took part across the morning, including our home manager Nicol and our deputy manager, who both spent time sitting with residents and catching up in a really natural way.
Here are some photos from our coffee morning:

It was especially nice seeing familiar faces like Clare, Irene, David, Dokhi, Janet, Maria and June all enjoying the moment in their own way, whether that was chatting in the armchairs, sharing stories on the sofa or simply enjoying a biscuit with a cup of tea. Maria made sure to let us know just how much she enjoyed the cakes, saying, “these cakes are delicious I’m definitely coming to the next coffee morning”.
Nicol, our Home Manager, shared how much she appreciated being part of it, saying,
“I’m so happy I got the chance to join our residents for this coffee morning, the atmosphere was perfect and I was able to catch up with some of our residents”.
We are keeping the donation pots in reception for a little while longer so anyone who would still like to contribute can do so.
At Hatfield Nursing Home, we’re always keen to get behind causes that make a difference, and our Macmillan Coffee Morning was a lovely opportunity to do just that. Supporting charities, raising awareness and bringing people together are all important parts of life at our home, and we’re grateful to everyone who joined us or made a donation. It’s great to know that, together with our residents, families and local community, we can help support such an important cause.
