We are incredibly proud of our Activity Coordinator, Natalie, who recently completed the Macmillan Mighty Hike Marathon in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Natalie took on the 26-mile challenge alongside her brother, sister-in-law and 15-year-old niece, setting off at 7.30am and crossing the finish line just after 7pm after an amazing 12 hours of walking. With the sun shining throughout the day, the family enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the route, with a few well-earned coffee stops along the way.
The event saw around 4,500 people take part over the weekend and is one of Macmillan’s biggest annual fundraising events. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Natalie has already raised an incredible £450 for the charity!
At Martins House, we love supporting charitable causes and giving back to our wider community, so it has been wonderful to cheer Natalie on every step of the way. Her determination, kindness and commitment to helping others are qualities we see every day within our home, and we couldn’t be prouder of what she has achieved.
Macmillan shared their thanks, explaining that £450 could help run their Online Community forum for more than 16 hours, allowing hundreds of people affected by cancer to find support, share experiences and connect with others during difficult times.
If you would like to support Natalie’s fundraising efforts, donations can still be made here or you can also like, comment and support Natalie’s challenge on our Facebook page.
