The teacups were out, the cakes were ready, and we had a fantastic turnout for our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon at Emberbrook Care Home!
On 25th September, we welcomed around 75 residents, relatives and colleagues for an afternoon of tea, cake and fundraising, raising a brilliant £132 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
We decided to make the occasion feel like a proper afternoon tea, bringing out our teacups and setting the tables with plenty of treats for everyone to enjoy.
Our resident Mollie was particularly impressed with the preparations, especially the “posh tea sets”, which made the afternoon feel that little bit different!
Alongside the refreshments, we also organised a quiz, giving everyone a chance to test their knowledge and enjoy a little friendly competition.
Here are a few of our favourite photos from the afternoon:

One of the nicest parts of the afternoon was seeing so many people come along to support the event. With so many people joining us throughout the afternoon, there was plenty of opportunity for our residents to catch up with relatives, spend time with friends and enjoy the company.
Our Activities Coordinator, Sally, was particularly pleased with the turnout and the amount raised, with everyone coming together to support a cause that means so much to people across the country.
Supporting a cause that matters
At Emberbrook, we love finding opportunities to bring our residents, families and local community together, especially when we can raise money and awareness for an important cause at the same time.
Our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon was a great example of this, and we’re so pleased that everyone could enjoy themselves while contributing to the charity’s work supporting people affected by cancer.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, helped organise the afternoon or made a donation. We’re proud to have raised £132 together!
