There was plenty to celebrate at Queensway House recently as we surprised one of our longest serving team members, Susan, better known as Sue amongst our team, to mark an incredible 20 years of dedicated service.
For two decades, Sue has been a valued part of life at Queensway House, providing compassionate care, building meaningful relationships with our residents and supporting families through every stage of their journey. Her kindness, commitment and warmth have made a lasting impact on so many people, making this milestone one that our whole home wanted to celebrate together.
To make the occasion extra special, we were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Dacorum, Councillor Garrick Stevens, who joined our residents and team for the surprise celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to recognise Sue’s remarkable contribution and thank her for everything she has done over the past 20 years.
Sue was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, kindly gifted by Amanda Jane Florist, along with a personalised celebration cake featuring an illustrated photograph of her with one of our residents. She also received a certificate and thoughtful gifts from both Gold Care Homes and everyone here at Queensway House.
Here are just a few of our favourite photos captured from this very special occassion:

Reflecting on the milestone, Sue said:
“I feel incredibly proud to have been part of the Queensway House family for the past 20 years. It has been a privilege to care for so many wonderful residents and to work alongside such dedicated colleagues. Watching the home grow, while being able to make a positive difference each day, has been the most rewarding part of my career. I’m grateful for all the memories, friendships, and support over the years, and I look forward to many more.”
Our Home Manager, Charlotte Ford, added:
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sue’s remarkable 20 years of service at Queensway House. Her compassion, professionalism and unwavering commitment have made a lasting difference to the lives of our residents, their families and her colleagues. Thank you, Sue, for two decades of outstanding care and dedication. We are truly grateful to have you as part of the Queensway House family.”
Long service milestones like this are incredibly special to us. They reflect not only the dedication of our team but also the strong sense of community that makes Queensway House feel like home. We are so proud of everything Sue has achieved over the last 20 years, and we know our residents, families and colleagues will join us in congratulating her on this fantastic achievement.
