Our wonderful residents and our team at Burrows House marked National Cheese Day with an afternoon dedicated to one of the nation’s favourite foods, bringing everyone together to enjoy great company and plenty of delicious treats.
Around 25 of our wonderful residents and our team joined the celebration, where a wide selection of cheeses, biscuits and wines gave everyone the opportunity to sample different flavours and share their favourites. The afternoon encouraged conversation around the table, with many reminiscing about favourite meals and enjoying trying something new together.
Among those taking part were our lovely ladies Jill, Doreen and Sheila, who all enjoyed spending time with fellow residents and our team. The impressive cheese selection proved to be the highlight of the afternoon, with plenty of favourites discovered along the way.
Here are just a few of our favourite moments captured:

The event was warmly received by everyone involved, with our residents describing the afternoon as highly commendable. Our team, including our Home Manager, were equally delighted with how the celebration brought everyone together, and special thanks were given to our incredible Activities Coordinator, Admire, whose planning and organisation helped make the day such a success.
At Burrows House, we know that activities do not have to be extravagant to make a lasting impact. Taking the time to celebrate national days like these gives our residents something to look forward to, encourages conversation and creates opportunities to spend quality time together. Our team is always looking for meaningful ways to tailor activities around our residents’ interests, helping every day feel engaging, enjoyable and personal.
