There was a very special celebration at The Headington Care Home as our lovely Audrey marked an incredible milestone, her 100th birthday, surrounded by family, memories and lots of love.
Audrey spent the day celebrating with her daughter and family, who helped decorate her room with balloons, birthday cards and thoughtful touches to make the occasion feel extra special. One of the highlights of the day was receiving beautiful photo books filled with treasured memories from throughout her life, alongside a special birthday card from King Charles III.
Looking through old photographs together sparked so much of conversation, with memories shared from different chapters of Audrey’s life and the people she has loved along the way.
Born on 15th May 1926, Audrey has lived a remarkable life full of stories, from working during wartime to travelling and enjoying village dances when she was younger. The family also brought along some lovely photographs from Audrey’s younger years, giving everyone a glimpse into the life and memories behind such a special milestone. Here are just a few of our favourites:

When asked the secret to reaching 100, Audrey simply said:
“Take care of yourself, use cream on your face and have a laugh.”
The celebrations included birthday cake, favourite treats and, most importantly, precious time spent together with family. Audrey shared that she had a wonderful day celebrating with her loved ones.
