At Alan Morkill House, we all came together on 19th August 2026 for a fantastic Summer BBQ Party, celebrating the sunshine, community spirit and the carnival season in true style.
The event was organised by our team and designed to bring everyone together for an afternoon and to make the day, our incredible team even decorated our home beutifully with a Hawaiian theme with leis and skirts.
Our residents were joined by family members and staff, with all residents taking part in the event. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to socialise, catch up with loved ones and enjoy time together both indoors and out in the sunshine.
Here are some lovely photos from the afternoon:

A highlight of the day was, of course, the delicious BBQ, with residents enjoying freshly cooked burgers and a wide selection of food and refreshments. The themed decorations, colourful surroundings and selection of mocktails served in fancy cups added an extra special touch to the occasion, making it feel like a true summer party.
Beyond the food and festivities, residents particularly enjoyed spending time together, sitting in the garden, listening to music and soaking up gorgeous weather we had.
One of our lovely residents shared:
“I really liked seeing all of my friends and having a nice time with them today,”
A huge thank you to our team for all the work that went into bringing the afternoon together, from decorating our home and preparing the BBQ to making sure everyone could be part of the celebrations. We’d also like to thank the families who joined us and helped make the day such a sociable one.
At Alan Morkill House, spending time with friends and family is an important part of life here. Our doors are always open to the people who matter to our residents, whether they’re joining us for one of our bigger celebrations or simply popping in to spend time together.
We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to get everyone together!
