There have been plenty of reasons to get together at Marlborough Court Care Home this August, and looking back through our photos, we couldn’t resist sharing a few of our favourites.
One day you might have spotted Hawaiian shirts, colourful leis and residents enjoying music together. On another, things were deliberately much calmer as we marked National Relaxation Day and gave residents an excuse to slow things down and enjoy some quieter time.
And, with August giving us some lovely weather, we made the most of our garden too. Afternoon Tea Week included lunch outside, where residents could sit together over good food and conversation in the sunshine.
There was even a trip to the seaside without having to leave Marlborough Court, as National Beach Day gave us another excuse to bring out the decorations, put on some music and have a little fun with the theme.
Here are some of our favourite photos from across the activities:

Across the different activities, around 60 residents got involved, although taking part looked different for everyone. Some were happiest amongst the music and activity, while others preferred the more relaxed parts of the week or simply sitting outside with friends.
Our Home Manager, Maribel, said:
“It was a pleasure to see so many residents engaged and enjoying themselves. Every activity was designed with individual choice in mind, ensuring everyone could take part in a way that felt comfortable and meaningful to them.”
That choice is an important part of how we plan life at Marlborough Court. There isn’t one type of activity that suits everybody, and we wouldn’t want there to be. Our residents have their own interests, personalities and preferences, so we aim for a calendar with plenty of variety and the freedom to join in with as much, or as little, as they choose.
Judging by the photos from August, we’ve had a pretty good mix!
