Aloha from Brackenbridge House!
We brought a little tropical sunshine into our home on 28th August as residents, relatives and our team came together for a Hawaiian-themed celebration as part of Carnival Weekend.
Around 40 people joined us for the afternoon, and our team had certainly embraced the theme. With colourful decorations, floral displays, Hawaiian outfits and plenty of flower garlands, Brackenbridge was looking suitably tropical for the occasion.
There was music and entertainment to enjoy throughout the afternoon, alongside a spread of food and refreshments. Residents and their loved ones spent time catching up, enjoying the performances and making the most of the celebrations together.
Of course, no Hawaiian party would be complete without a little dancing, and we certainly didn’t hold back!
The afternoon finished with a conga, bringing residents, relatives and colleagues together for one final dance. It was a brilliant way to round off the celebrations, with everyone joining in and enjoying the music together.
Our wonderful residents had plenty of positive things to say afterwards, particularly about the music, costumes and food. It was lovely to hear how much they had enjoyed the afternoon, and we suspect the conga might be making another appearance at a future party!
Here are just a few of our favourite moments from the day:

Mahalo from everyone at Brackenbridge House
A huge thank you to our team for all the work that went into organising the afternoon, decorating the home, preparing the food and making sure everyone could enjoy the celebrations in their own way.
We’d also like to thank all the relatives and friends who joined us. Having the people who matter to our residents involved in occasions like this makes our celebrations that little bit more personal.
At Brackenbridge House, we love giving residents opportunities to enjoy their interests, try something different and spend time with family and friends. Whether it’s a themed party, live entertainment or a quieter activity, there’s always room for different ways to join in.
Until next time!
