On the 17th and 19th of June, Beachcroft House Care Home came to life in a very special way as we took part in Care Home Open Week. It was something our residents and team had been looking forward to. There had been plenty of chats about baking, painting and bringing people together, so a cake and art sale felt like the perfect fit.
Over the two days, our residents were right at the heart of everything. From preparing and displaying delicious homemade cakes to proudly showcasing their artwork, there was a real sense of purpose and excitement throughout the home. Our lovely team members Sandra, Rose and Hope were there every step of the way, helping things run smoothly while making sure everyone could enjoy the moment.

What stood out most was how much our residents enjoyed being part of the wider community again. Many shared that it brought back fond memories of earlier years spent baking, selling and creating. There was a real buzz as people stopped by to chat, admire the artwork and, of course, pick up a slice of cake or two. Seeing others appreciate their efforts meant a great deal, and a few pieces of artwork even found new homes.
We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along to support us. Your time, kindness and encouragement made the days even more special for our residents.
