Some months bring a little more with them than usual, and at Marlborough Court Care Home, March 2026 was one of those.
Across the weeks, there were different moments to celebrate and reflect on. Mother’s Day, International Women’s Day, heartfelt farewells and everyday opportunities for our wonderful residents, families and team to spend meaningful time together.
Mother’s Day brought a lovely family atmosphere into the home. Residents were joined by loved ones for food, conversation and time shared together. Jill was pictured enjoying fish and chips with her daughters, while Joan and members of the team enjoyed cupcakes as part of a sweet afternoon celebration. It was those simple moments of togetherness that made the day feel special.
Around the same time, International Women’s Day offered something a little different. Residents Patricia and Anne took part in arts and crafts, followed by tea and snacks as conversations flowed around the room. Anne later shared, “I have enjoyed the creations of the paper flowers, looked boring and difficult at the beginning but I had fun making them.”
There was also entertainment throughout the week, with one resident, Carol, saying, “I really love the entertainer, his singing was fantastic.” June, a resident’s family member, added that the cupcakes were “nice and fluffy.”
Alongside the celebrations, there were more reflective moments too. A long-serving member of staff was given a warm send-off by Manager Maribel, while retiring Doctor Gregory was thanked with affection by the Manager, Deputy, Clinical Lead and wider team for the care and support he has given over the years.
Here are some of our favourite photos captured from these events:

Reflecting on the month, Manager Maribel shared how pleased she was to see residents having so much fun each day and how these moments continue to enrich life in the home.
Taken together, it was a month that reflected the spirit of Marlborough Court. A place where celebrations are shared, people are appreciated and community is felt in the everyday moments as much as the special ones.
