Everyone at Lucton House recently came together to mark VE Day with a lively and meaningful celebration, giving our wonderful residents and team a chance to reflect, remember and enjoy the occasion.
The day was filled with thoughtful touches, from VE Day themed cupcakes to carefully arranged table decorations and flags that created a real sense of occasion. Our team fully embraced the spirit too, dressing in red, white and blue, which brought plenty of smiles and helped set the tone for a cheerful and respectful day.
One of the highlights was a visit from a new singer, who our residents had not seen before. She was a real hit, with many describing her as “really good” and saying she was fantastic for the event. Her performance brought everyone together, with residents listening, singing along and enjoying every moment.
Here are just a few of our favourite moments captured:

Our residents also shared how much they appreciated the effort that had gone into the celebration, with one commenting on how “the home was decorated lovely.” Alongside the music and decorations, there were plenty of opportunities to chat, share memories and reflect on personal experiences, which made the day feel even more special.
Events like this are especially important, offering a chance for residents to revisit meaningful moments from their past while feeling supported and connected in the present. Tamanna, a member of our care team, summed it up perfectly, sharing that it was a “lovely party” and that it was great to see the residents so happy.
Overall, it was a heartfelt and enjoyable celebration that will be fondly remembered by everyone involved.
