Our wonderful residents at St Katharine’s House recently enjoyed a wonderful day out at Hollywood Bowl in Oxford, spending the afternoon bowling, playing games and enjoying time together outside the home.
The trip came about after one of our residents mentioned how much they would love to go bowling again. Our activities team were delighted to make it happen and organised the outing so everyone could enjoy the experience together.
Once we arrived, our residents took part in a variety of activities including ten pin bowling and arcade games. The bowling lanes quickly filled with laughter and friendly competition as residents cheered each other on and celebrated every successful throw.
After the games, we all sat down to enjoy a relaxed lunch together, giving our residents the chance to chat about the day and share their favourite moments. The venue was a great setting for the outing, with plenty of space for everyone to move around comfortably and enjoy the activities.
Our team were also very grateful for the warm welcome we received from the staff at Hollywood Bowl. They even changed the television channel so our residents could watch the Winter Olympics while waiting for lunch, which everyone really appreciated.
One resident described the day as one of the “best experiences” and said they couldn’t wait to return.
The day created so many lovely moments that our team shared photos from the trip online. To see more from our bowling outing at Hollywood Bowl and some of the smiles from the day, head over to the St Katharine’s Care Home Facebook page where more photos have been shared.
Days out like this are an important part of life at St Katharine’s House. They give our residents the opportunity to stay active, enjoy new experiences and spend quality time together. It was a day full of smiles, laughter and friendly competition, and one we will all remember for a long time.
