At The Triangle Care Home, we recently had the pleasure of celebrating a truly special birthday as Sheila, one of our wonderful residents, reached the incredible milestone of turning 100.
It was one of those days where everyone naturally came together. Family, friends and residents gathered to mark the occasion, with flowers, cake and a buffet shared across the room. There was a steady flow of conversation, laughter and those quieter moments where people simply sat and took it all in.
A highlight for many was the arrival of a card from the King, something that brought an added sense of occasion and a moment for everyone to pause and appreciate just how significant the day was.
There were also small, personal touches that made the day feel even more meaningful. A visit from her great grandson, dressed as a cowboy, brought a smile and reflected something of her own interests and personality, which is what we always try to hold onto in moments like these.
While reaching 100 is something truly special, what matters most to us is how each birthday is celebrated. Whether it is a milestone like this or a quieter occasion, we take the time to make sure it feels personal to each resident, shaped around who they are and what brings them joy.
At The Triangle Care Home, it is not just about marking another year, but about recognising the individual and creating moments that feel thoughtful, familiar and genuinely theirs.
