On July 11, 2025, Hillside Nursing Home proudly participated in the annual Go Orange charity event to raise funds for Saint Francis Hospice. Our home organised a vibrant BBQ party that brought together residents, their families, and staff for a day full of fun, food, and community spirit.
The event kicked off at lunchtime with everyone enjoying a delicious spread of BBQ favourites, burgers, tasty sides, and refreshing desserts. The atmosphere was warm and lively as residents and guests gathered around to share conversations and laughter over their meals.
In the afternoon, the celebrations continued with live entertainment provided by our talented staff singer, Irene. Her spirited singing and engaging dance performances filled the room with joy and encouraged everyone to join in. The music truly lifted everyone’s spirits and created a wonderful sense of togetherness.
Later in the day, staff members took part in a series of fun and friendly games designed to promote teamwork, unity, and camaraderie. The games included the popular paper dance, push-up challenges, and a lively tug of war. Residents cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines, enjoying the friendly competition and vibrant energy.
Adding to the festive mood, some generous family members kindly donated lovely gifts, which were used for a raffle draw during the event. Thanks to everyone’s participation and generosity, Hillside Nursing Home was able to raise a fantastic total of £196 to donate to Saint Francis Hospice.
Overall, the day was a huge success, bringing joy, laughter, and a strong sense of community to all involved. Everyone left feeling proud to contribute to such a meaningful cause and eager to participate in future charity events.
