At Gold Care, we believe that everybody should receive a gift at Christmas. It has been a difficult year with the global pandemic, residents of many care homes across the world have spent most of the year with their doors closed to the community and loved ones in order to protect the health of staff and residents. This wonderful partnership with Dunelm offered an opportunity to build a connection with the local communities surrounding our Hertfordshire Care Homes.
Residents from Martins House, Autumn Vale Care Centre, Heath Lodge Care Home, Queensway House Care Home, and Halycon Days Care Home were asked to make a wish and place their desired wish on a Christmas gift tag which was then hanged on a Christmas tree in the Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead Dunelm stores. With great communication between the Home Managers and Dunelm management, over 200 of our residents were given a gift from kind friends, we have not yet had the pleasure of meeting.
In return, Gold Care Homes residents receiving gifts will be making cards to give to the Dunelm stores to say thank you for their generous gifts. This partnership was a simple way to help build relationships and play a part in the local communities by bringing people together, in the safest way possible.
This initiative underpins the company’s mission, which states: ENHANCING THE LIVES OF THE RESIDENTS IN OUR CARE BY BRINGING THEM JOY, HAPPINESS, AND FULFILMENT.
The Dunelm stores and Gold Care Homes partnership ensured that the residents in the Hertfordshire care homes get to enjoy the festive season; because everyone should have a gift at Christmas.
Ravi Gidar commented: “We’re incredibly pleased with the efforts of our homes and communities to stay interconnected and share their generous and kind nature during this difficult year. Our Gold Care team is tremendous at always thinking of others and finding ways to support our community, as well as each of our residents. Our partnership with Dunelm is incredibly important to us because we want to share kindness in every way possible. It is our mission to bring the residents in our care joy, happiness, and fulfilment whilst we provide them a safe, homely environment. While Christmas festivities may happen differently this year, the emotion, connection, and sense of family we feel among Gold Care Homes with our residents and communities have remained unwavered”.
