Acton Care Centre Meets Connect2You
Acton Care Centre has been privileged by being the first audience for Connect2You live entertainment in our rather large care home car park. Bred during COVID-19, Connect2You exists to provide outdoor shows to people of all ages, backgrounds, and capabilities, such as people who are shielding, vulnerable and front-line staff.
Connect2You work by taking into consideration the absence of smart technology and paid for subscriptions in some households; in what they call the ‘new wave of entertainment. The team travels to locations to provide a lively burst of entertainment, free of charge and our care home in Acton was the first to experience the talents of the team- Andy Abraham, Any Collins, Cassidy Jenson, and Kev Orkian.
Similar to our own values of driving to enhance the lives of the residents in our care by bringing them happiness, joy, and fulfilment; the Connect2You team have begun their mission to ‘list spirits and connect people with joy and laughter.
The activities team and care staff eagerly anticipated this joyous opportunity since a rather trying lockdown, as our doors were closed to the public. With bunting and balloons decorating the car park, residents were able to sit outside whilst maintaining social distance. Residents who wanted to remain inside sat by windows to watch the performances and others sat in chairs while embracing upbeat music and dancing along with staff members.
The Acton team and all of us at Gold Care Homes are incredibly grateful for this kind gesture and wonderful opportunity to spread some joy, particularly during this difficult time of COVID-19. Acton Care Centre is a 124-bed home, caring for residents of all capacities and offers services including dementia care, nursing care, palliative care, and end of life care.
