Late October brought celebrations into our West Drayton home, Drayton Village Care Centre, as one of our lovely residents, Beatrice Fletcher, celebrated her 102nd birthday. The dedicated team at Drayton Village, wasted no time in working together to create a birthday to remember, which was adapted to her care needs and beaming personality. Beatrice’s bedroom was bedecked with festive bunting and balloons that were placed by her window. A scrupmtious birthday cake was made, and cards filled with wonderful messages were gifted to Beatrice and used to decorate her bedroom wall.
Beatrice has been a valued resident at Drayton Village Care Centre since 2015. She is known to be an influential and prominent figure among residents at Drayton Village, which was clear to all as they came together to create beautiful handcrafted birthday cards and gifts. Despite her magnificent age, Beatrice is known for her strong vocals. She thoroughly enjoyed singing during her younger years and thrived on the opportunity to sing hymns at her local church.
Beatrice has always had an association with Social Care, as she worked at Hillingdon Council as the head of fostering care. Beatrice’s strong family values and intrinsic passion for supporting children in need remains a fond memory for Beatrice that she loves to share with the Gold Care team.
Loved by staff and those she touches, Beatrice remains a sociable and outgoing resident, who brings forth positive energy and boosts the morale of all those around her. She takes great enjoyment in the varied range of social activities offered at Drayton Village such as hair and nails pamper day. With such a bright personality, the activities team made every effort to make Beatrice’s day an unforgettable memory.
Drayton Village Care Home Manager commented ‘’Beatrice has been a lovely lady since the day of her arrival, Beatrice is one of our longest residing residents at Drayton Village.
