Carefully selected staff Hillside Nursing Home is divided into two units; each of the units is staffed with Staff Nurses and Care Assistants. In addition to the Registered Manager, the home employs Administrative staff, Activity Organisers, Maintenance Staff, Domestic/Laundry staff and Catering staff with a Catering Manager. The Activity organisers arrange activities and outings for all residents. A daily, weekly and monthly programme of events is drawn up and every attempt is made to cater for all residents needs, abilities and likes. Staff are appointed to work on a particular unit though they may be expected to work in other units if the need arises. To cover staff absences the home can draw on a ‘bank’ of staff. The home is fully committed to staff training and development. We have a comprehensive in-house training programme as well as external training. Hillside's nursing staff are all registered nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK). Some of our Care staff have or are currently working towards national Vocational Qualifications (NVQS) Level 2, with the aim of having 50% of our care staff with an NVQ qualification by the end of 2005.
