
Heath Lodge is an equal opportunities employer. There is a team of 15 dedicated men and women from various ethnic and religious backgrounds who make up the permanent staff. In addition Heath Lodge has a bank of casual staff that helps to cover sickness and holiday times. There is a comprehensive ongoing training plan for all staff. This includes internal training using videos and training manuals, external courses, distance learning packages and local colleges, hospitals and support services. Topics covered by the training plan include Moving and Handling, Food Hygiene, Fire Prevention, Health & Safety, as well as client specific areas such as Continence, Diabetes etc. All staff are encouraged to undertake formal training leading to recognised certificates in the form of NVQ qualifications. Staff not wishing to undertake this level of study are supported to work towards the Certificate in Care Practice Award which is also a recognised qualification in the care sector.
