Promote and ensure the good reputation of the home. Maintain complete confidentiality of all matters concerning the Homes, Clients, Staff and related work. Receive daily instructions from the Manager/Deputy regarding care and specific tasks to be carried out during the night the night. Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by the Manager and with due regard to residents privacy. Carry out regular checks on the building with special reference to fire preventation and security. Answer call bells, assess the situation; deal with the patient seeking help. In the case of an emergency, to summon the senior care staff on duty / call and / or the emergency doctor or ambulance. Care for residents needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing etc. Help care for residents who are dying. Assist residents who needs help, reassurance, comfort or just a cup of tea. Join the day care staff in preparing the residents for bed. Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and the toilet. Assist residents in the morning to wash and dress and proceed to the dining room. Prepare tea, coffee or a hot drink and offer to residents when they get up in the morning. Inspect, launder and mend residents clothing. Undertake domestic duties as directed, in the time available between attending to residents. Conduct all procedures within the home with due regard to the food hygiene, Health and Safety regulations, emergency and Fire procedures. Read and write reports, take part in staff and residents meetings and training activities as directed. Help in the use, cleaning and maintenance of equipment used by residents i.e. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc. Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment and any potential hazard to the Manager. Report immediately to the Manager any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a client, colleague, self or another. Undertake other duties as necessary. |
