Autumn Vale Care Centre is a 69 bedded Residential, Dementia and Nursing care home which is set in a rural part of the old town of Welwyn. We offer and provide various types of stay tailored to meet the needs of our residents. This includes long term care as well as short term, respite or day stay care to give the main carers the opportunity to have a break. It is a brand new, purpose built home with a countryside setting. It is set in beautiful grounds and is only 1.5 miles from the main town of Welwyn. There is a short walk to the local shops and plenty of wildlife in its surround. You will be able to see mountjacks and rabbits playing in the gardens. The home is situated on a private road and has beautifully maintained gardens which also includes a pond that provides home to a variety of fish. The home is accessible by buses and the nearest train stations are Knebworth and Welwyn North.
Autumn Vale is a HCC Dementia Care accredited home.

Manager:
Veekash Bhowaneesing is the manager at Autumn Vale. Veekash has achieved Registered Nurse - DipHE, RMA - Registered Managers Awards, A1 - Assessor, Diploma in Holistic Care at the End of Life, ENB 998 Teaching and Assessing In Clinical Practice, Manual Handling Trainer and various other courses.
Deputy Manager:
Philomena John is the deputy manager. Philomena is a RGN Qualified with years of experience both Uk and Abroad.
Administrator:
Jona Sutch is the administrator. Jona has experience in the accounts field; management accounts preparation, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and management reporting. He also has an HND in Business Studies with numerous GCSE’s, NVQ’s and a National Diploma in Business Studies.
Senior Carers:
The senior carers at Autumn Vale Care Centre have achieved their NVQ Level 2 + 3.

Additional Information
Accommodation:
All the bedrooms in the home have en-suite facilities with showers, television and telephone points, smoke detectors and nurse call system. All bedrooms are personalised with our residents’ belongings, to make them as homely as possible. The home also has assisted bathrooms.
Lounge and dining area:
Communal areas include large comfortable sitting rooms as well as dining rooms. A relative’s room is also available if residents would prefer to entertain their visitors in private.
Menu Choices:
At Autumn Vale we have two very experienced, top class chef. Residents have a choice from the daily menu and if a resident is not happy with the options then an alternative can be provided. We also offer meals to suite specific dietary requirements. Our menu choice will vary from day to day.
Activities:
At Autumn Vale we have a range of activities to suit the needs of our residents. These include, music & movement, arts & crafts, gardening, bingo, tea party, cocktail hour, indoor games, cake making, movies afternoons, one to one sessions and passive exercises. We also have mini bus outings and regular outside entertainers.
We have celebration days which have included, tea & biscuits on Mother's day, hot cross buns on Easter Sunday, a Royal Wedding Party and an Oscar themed party where residents won awards.
Services:
We can arrange a hairdresser, chiropodist, dentist and optician for you when required.
Other Information:
We have a new Welcome Pack for all new residents. Autumn Vale is a lovely, homely, safe, comforting home for the elderly and we are expertly trained.
